What is Danimal?
I'm Dr. Dan, and I call my playful persona 'Danimal'. I've been an enthusiast of all things mechanical since I was a child - first enamored with taking my toys apart to see how they work. I suppose that hasn't really changed with age. I have a Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering and work as a Clinical Faculty Member at the University of Idaho.
I love working with the students in my roles as a teacher, mentor, or support staff. They help keep me young at heart, and it is rewarding to see them grow and develop in to engineers. I also love that I get to perform research in an area that aligns so well with my own personal interests. This lets me exchange discoveries between research at work, and what I do in my free time. I believe this is mutually beneficial for both work and play.
I created this site to document some of my hobbies, and progress/discoveries made on various projects.
